The Hammered Dulcimer

So I just recently purchased a new instrument. It's called a hammered dulcimer. I first learned of this instrument in high school, I was in choir (which I maybe should not admit) and one of the songs we sang had this really awesome sound in it. So I asked and found out it was a dulcimer and I've wanted one ever since.
Now it is actually one of the oldest stringed instruments in existence, it's like 2000 years old. It has almost a medieval or Renaissance sound. I feel like I should be wearing a knights chain mesh suit playing it in an open meadow but I have yet to get around to that.

Nowadays the hammered dulcimer doesn't get much love. So this made it very hard to locate. Once I made up my mind that I was gonna buy one I started calling around and literally nobody in Tennessee sold them. I finally found one in north carolina and had it shipped out. Once I got it I played around on it and we actually were in the studio that week and I brought it in and put it on our record. So when you listen to the album listen for the songs "echoes of the holler" and "feeling of falling" and see if you can hear the dulcimer. In the mean time I'll be at my house dressed like a noble squire sitting on my couch eating a turkey leg.
