Bigger Picture Group sibling trio The Harters are wasting no time in 2011, kicking off the year with their very first music video for their new single, “If I Run.” Directed by Wes Edwards (Jason Aldean), the video was shot at Nashville’s Riverwood Mansion and utilizes stop-motion photography to depict the passage of time in the song’s lyrics.

“If I Run” is already garnering critical praise for its lush harmonies and relatable lyrics, declared “In a word, fabulous” by Robert K. Oermann/Music Row. The song is written by Leslie Harter and Michael Harter with Rachel Williams and is produced by Keith Stegall.

The video for “If I Run” will make its world premiere today on CMT and can be seen on TV and online in the coming weeks.

“If I Run” Review by Today’s Country

After being discovered by producer Keith Stegall, the sibling trio The Harters started to create a buzz within’ country music scene almost instantly and furthered that impact and buzz earlier this year with the release of their single “Jenny.” Now back with their new single“If I Run,” The Harters seem poised to be the next breakout group to the country music scene as this single encompasses a little bit from every corner of the country music genre that makes it so great. Musically, you get a combination of old styled country with new flare mixed with touches of bluegrass and folk while vocally, Leslie Harter delivers the heartfelt and vulnerable lyric with the exact amount of feeling that is needed to satisfy it. The lyric features a very relatable topic for anyone that has dared to love again after a broken heart as she sings about entering a new relationship with someone that could be perfect for her. She showcases her fear and her cautious approach to the new relationship, even though her heart as been mended as is stated in the first verse. Into the chorus we see the questions arise asking, “If I run will you run after me – If I walk will you wait patiently – If I fall will you have sympathy?” In the second verse we see talks of growing old together come into play where she wants to know the answers to those same questions fast-forwarded to years down the road after they have been together and shared their lives with one another. The combination of lyric, vocal and music on “If I Run” is exactly what has been missing from country radio these days and this song is what the mainstream needs right now. It has heart, emotion, feeling, and will satisfy any listener from country music aficionado to the casual country music fan.

Nashville Gab Review

“If I Run” is the new single by The Harters, a group comprised of Leslie, Michael, and Scott…wait for it…..you guessed it…Harter! There’s an old saying that says you can choose your friends; you can’t pick your family. Somehow, The Harters have managed to choose each other as friends and fellow musicians, and still maintain the ties that bind. As Leslie says.”…we love being connected to everyone out there. No joke; every fan that comes into our lives becomes part of our family.” Well, that family is fixin’ to get even larger as more and more people discover their new release. Their warm harmonies are braided together to create a sound that embraces the music and lyrics rather than competing with the notes and words. I am lovin’ this single! While the song does contemplate the future of a relationship, thankfully, it does not fall into a melancholy abyss. Instead, you’ll find yourself drawn in and feeling hopeful on behalf of a woman willing to give voice to the questions that always seem to go unsaid. The song is written by Leslie Harter and Michael Harter with Rachel Williams.

Got Country Post About New Single and Album Debut

The Harters new single, “If I Run” is a lovely ballad written by Leslie Harter and Michael Harter with Rachel Williams and produced by Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, Zach Brown Band). The Harters is a trio made up of siblings, Leslie, Michael and Scott. Their soaring vocals and family harmonies lend a sound to this song and all of their music that is just incredible. ”If I Run” is a love ballad with an upbeat rhythm that asks the question “If I Run, will you run after me?”, the story of a person who’s heart was once broken, looking to love again but needing to know that the person will be there for them. A ballad of patience, understanding, sympathy and everlasting love that grows old together. This song was made for radio. As I listened to it over and over all I could think is that it sounds like a hit that we can expect to hear on our radios while singing along!

The Arizona siblings have an astound musical background with deep family roots. From listening to their Dad play The Beatles and Hank Williams during their early years and a Mom who is a talented writer who taught them the importance of music and lyrics. One can fully understand where their musical talent comes from. Earlier years found the three trying their hand at very different solo careers and now they have come together to incorporate their musical differences into a blend that puts some rock and rhythm into their country sound. Their debut album “The Harters” is set to release soon. Check out The Harters website for more information on this up and coming group! “Alan Jackson Helps Break New Acts”

The Sioux City Journal had a nice review about us opening for Alan Jackson. Check out what it said…

“Breaking new acts – an Alan Jackson hallmark – was in force Thursday, too. The Harters, a brothers-and-sister act, sang a handful of songs as openers and emerged as more than just another trendy trio. The three – Leslie, Scott and Michael – all sing and harmonize nicely. They offered up “Gravel Road,” a cover of “Lean on Me” and, perhaps their best, the new cut, “If I Run.” Leslie took the lead on that one and wailed like Reba. She has great range and fits nicely with the guys – who accompany on mandolin and guitar. While the three haven’t quite perfected their banter yet, they’re a trio worth watching. Like Jackson, they’ll be heard from in years to come.”
